Easy Vegan Glazed Donuts Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Donuts:

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:

  • In a small bowl, heat the plant-based milk and water until warm (but not hot). Stir in the active dry yeast and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add the melted vegan butter (or coconut oil) and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness.
