Throat Chakra Activation Symptoms You Should Know About
The throat chakra – or Vishuddha in Sanskrit, meaning “especially pure” – exists at the centre of the neck, close to the throat.
This fifth chakra links the heart chakra to the two head chakras, the Third Eye and the Crown, allowing passage of energy between the head and the rest of the body. Its aura often appears blue, turquoise or purple.
The importance of the throat chakra lies in communication and expression.
We spend so much of our time communicating with others and attempting to express ourselves adequately that any imbalance in the throat chakra can significantly impact our daily lives.
When we have difficulty expressing ourselves, we often speak too quietly or experience social anxiety; we may need to activate our throat chakra.
Even physical symptoms such as neck pain, hoarseness and thyroid problems can be indicative of a blockage.
There are a number of ways we can clear a blocked throat chakra and many benefits of doing so. Activation of the throat chakra can have significant effects on your body and behaviour.
When we experience activation, there are many common symptoms.
Renewed Sociability
Activation of the throat chakra often results in renewed sociability in those who have felt less inclined to be around people of late. When the throat chakra is blocked, we find ourselves having to expend serious effort to socialise.
Clearing the blockage and activating the energy through healing results in an ease of communication and expression that stops socialising from being a chore and allows us to enjoy speaking with friends, family and even strangers.
Confidence
When our throat chakra is blocked, we may feel as though our voice is betraying us, which causes a natural and understandable decay in the confidence we feel in front of others.
Activating the throat chakra helps us to reconnect with our voice and wield it with more confidence.
Confidence is integral to our lives, especially at work where we might have to speak at a meeting or give a presentation as feeling confident can help us to sell our ideas.
Relief From Pain
A number of physical symptoms can manifest while our throat chakra is blocked and unblocking it can alleviate or lessen some of those symptoms.
Some of the physical symptoms associated with a need to activate the throat chakra include:
- Neck pain.
- Thyroid problems.
- A persistent cough.
- Hoarseness
- Laryngitis
- Mouth ulcers and dental problems.
- Persistent headaches.
Of course, we should always seek medical advice to check for any underlying health issues, but in addition to that we can lessen and alleviate these symptoms by activating the throat chakra.
When we experience a decline in any of these symptoms, we know we are healing the Vishuddha.
Thoughtful Self Expression
Control over the voice allows us to convey ourselves to the world in a way more true to who we are.
When the throat chakra is blocked, we may find ourselves unable to do this, leading either to excessive shyness or even a tendency to gush or babble.
This is borne from frustration at our inability to express our feelings or ideas. But with activation comes a calmness and composure that allows us to speak our minds calmly, confidently and with purpose.
